Grimes Leadership Academy Application

This is an online application to be considered for inclusion in the Grimes Leadership Academy Class of 2024/2025, Class No. 2. The deadline to apply is close of business, April 30, 2024. This information, along with other requirements, will be found throughout this application.

GRIMES LEADERSHIP ACADEMY DESCRIPTION
The Grimes Leadership Academy is a premier leadership program that seeks to identify and resource leaders, encouraging and equipping them to be more effective leaders in the workplace and the community, and providing opportunity for relationship building and professional networking.
ATTENDANCE
Graduation from the Grimes Leadership Academy requires participants to attend at least 11 of the 12 scheduled meetings. Attendance is mandatory for the Orientation Retreat and the Mid-Year Retreat. If you are unable to make the necessary attendance commitment, you should not apply at this time.

TUITION
The tuition for the Grimes Leadership Academy (GLA) covers all educational, training, and meal expenses incurred during class sessions and retreats. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the costs of their transportation to the designated starting point for each session, with occasional travel required between locations throughout the day. Requests for personal transportation will be restricted to destinations within the Des Moines metropolitan area.

Full tuition for participation in the Grimes Leadership Academy is $1,500.00. Payment is required by Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Applicants who are applying as employees from an area non-profit (501(c)3) may be eligible to apply for scholarship assistance. Contact Grimes Chamber & Economic Development for details.
REFUND POLICY
Tuition refunds will only be granted in the event that an alternate candidate is identified by the selection committee and substituted before July 31, 2024.
REFERENCE LETTERS REQUIREMENT
Alongside this application, you are required to submit two reference letters. One of these references must be provided by your CEO, Manager, or Direct Supervisor, unless you are self-employed. These letters can be uploaded near the end of this application.

Post Submission Expectations
Following the April 15th submission deadline, all applications will undergo review by the GLA Selection Committee. You may receive an invitation to interview with the GLA Selection Committee.

The final class size will be determined by the GLA Selection Committee, with an expected limit of 18 participants. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be provided to all applicants in writing. All applications will remain confidential to the GLA Implementation Team.
